Special Guests in Dozza: Malvasia and Ortrugo wines

The aromaticity of Malvasia and the character of Ortrugo will be proposed to the winelovers in a new wine tasting desk in the wine bar of Enoteca Regionale on September 17th.

From 3.00 pm to 6.45 pm a specialized sommelier will guide the public through the diffent varieties of this typical wine of Emilia Romagna.

Sparkling, still, dry, sweet: the grape Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, typical of the hills near Parma and Piacenza, produces different varieties of wine, all with an impressive smell. Malvasia is perfect as a light aperitif and it matches with delicate dishes, cheeses and dessert in the sweet version.

Ortrugo is a tipycal Piacenza Wine. The variety is productive and vigorous, and well suited to the dry, infertile soils of the hills. High levels of acidity have led to Ortrugo's adoption in sparkling wines, although the variety was traditionally used as a less-glamorous blending partner for Malvasia. Indeed, the name "Ortruga" is thought to derive from altra uva, or "other grape": an indication of Ortruga's traditional status in the region

The price for the taste of three glasses of Malvasia or Ortrugo is 6 €; it will be possible to taste typical products from Emilia Romagna as Parmigiano Reggiano PDO and Mortadella Bologna PGI at 2€.

The tasting desks will continue every Sunday until December: you can find all dates on our site www.enotecaemiliaromagna.it
