Production Zone: the provinces of Bologna, Ferrara, Modena , Parma, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia and the part of the Province of Bologna which is located to the right of the Sillaro River, as regards the production of wines and musts from partially fermented
grapes, to the exclusion of types carrying the reference to the Lambrusco vine variety.

Grapes: White, red and rosé wines shall be made with grapes from vineyards consisting, within the same farm, of one or more vine varieties suitable for being grown in the Emilia-Romagna Region and entered in the register of vine varieties for wine-grapes.

Wines carrying the reference to one of the red vine varieties shall be made with grapes from vineyards consisting, within the same farm, of the relevant vine variety by at least 85%; other grapes of vine varieties with the same colour and suitable for being grown
in the Emilia-Romagna Region may also be used, either alone or together, up to 15%.

Wines carrying the references “red Lambrusco”, “rosé Lambrusco” and “Lambrusco fermented without skins” shall be made with grapes from vineyards consisting, within the same farm, of the following vine varieties by at least 85%: Lambrusco Salamino and/
or Lambrusco di Sorbara and/or Lambrusco Grasparossa and/or Lambrusco Marani and/or Lambrusco Maestri and/or Lambrusco Montericco and/or Lambrusco Viadanese and/or Lambrusco Oliva and/or Lambrusco a foglia frastagliata (with jagged leaves)
and/or Lambrusco Barghi e/o Lambrusco dal peduncolo rosso (with the red stem) or Terrano; other grapes of vine varieties with the same colour suitable for being grown in the Emilia-Romagna Region may be also used, either alone or together, up to 15%.

Wines carrying the reference to one of the white vine varieties shall be made with grapes from vineyards consisting, within the same farm, of the relevant vine variety by at least 85%; other grapes of vine varieties with the same colour suitable for being grown
in the Emilia-Romagna Region may be also used, either alone or together, up to 15% and, as regards the “Emilia” or “dell’Emilia” PGI carrying the reference to Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc vine varieties, the Pinot Noir vine variety can be used up to 15%.
